...wash your feet if you like

…a tempayan (earthenware jar) full of rain water was always present near the steps up to a malay kampung (village) house raised on wooden columns…a coconut shell was provided as scoop so you could wash your feet before going up to the entrance porch

...the other night, when the blood moon eclipse was in its full glory, I had forgotten about the whole thing...only being reminded about it in the last few minutes...rushed out into the darkness without a tripod or a torchlight...pointed shakily at the sky...and took some weird unmoonlike images…

situated on bermagui road between cobargo and bermagui, I heard on the grapevine that this spread can be had for 1 million dollars...

the swiss army knife of asian brooms

…this is penyapu lidi (coconut-frond broom) which was, once upon a time, a very common item in malay households in malaysia
…it’s very versatile: a fly swatter, a cleaning utensil for hard-to-reach cobwebs in the ceilings, a mean of controlling recalcitrant animals, if waved in the direction of a person was the lowest form of insult…the spread of the utility bottom part is adjusted by twisting the handle bunch…and if chopped a foot from the handle becomes a very robust brush…and if a 6 foot-long pole is inserted in the handle, it becomes a sweeper a council worker use to tidy up roads with...

…this particular one was bought from the cobargo visitors centre, as you do at a tourist info stop, here at the south coast…

...the mother and son are having lovely quality time together...creeks always have small amount of water this being a really dry continent but the water is clean and clear...polluting waterways is against environment protection law as it should be for all parts of the world...I was sitting on the far bank watching as she showed her son that she was making the water channel bigger for the water to flow better...show the young ones how you care for the environment by examples...and they both were having fun ...
